THE ADVANTAGES OF USING PELLETS
Pellets are a clean fuel created by pressing the biomass that remains after wood processing. Wood chips are dried and pressed under high pressure to produce small cylinders of various diameters, the most common being 6mm or 8mm. Thanks to the pressing during its production, the energy density of the pellet is almost double that of the wood itself. The advantages of using pellets for heating can be summarized in two words: Ecological and Economical.
The pellet is made entirely of wood, so it is ecological and respects the environment. During combustion it does not emit black smoke, with neutral emissions of CO2 and nitrogen oxides. After its use, minimal residual ash remains, which can also be used as a quality fertilizer with phosphorus and potassium content.
The most important advantage of wood pellets intended as an alternative energy source and that there is no danger of them running out, can be easily produced from the wood itself deriving from the cleaning of forest maintenance and its processing derivatives.
Modern models of pellet boilers and fireplaces have the following advantages:
- Automated heating according to a preset program
- Environmentally friendly combustion process
- Easy cleaning and maintenance
- Safety
